Bethesda's texture pack fixes that issue, doesn't mess with the game's aesthetics in any way (it's simply less compressed versions of the original art after all), and if nothing else, it serves for a better base for later texture reworks. People are commenting about there being better community-made texture packs available, and there are certainly higher resolution options out there, but for me these texture packs only made things worse because I only had higher resolution textures to contrast even more poorly with the random low resolution textures thrown about the game world. I would be looking at nicely textured armor or nice, parallax'd walls and cobblestones, then glance at a table and see a blurry mess, seemingly less than a fourth the resolution of the things around it. My problem visually with Skyrim from the beginning was the inconsistency in texture resolution.
